Self Improvement Tip of the Day: Are You Pursuing Perfection?

The unrealistic pursuit of perfection is a common reason why many people never find true success or happiness in their lives.

They may have the best plans and ideas but may feel they can’t start until everything is just right. There can be distractions or interruptions to deal with, and everything else must be completed before any new task, particularly an important task, can be started.

When perfectionists do start something, their quest for perfection can dramatically slow down progress and even result in the task never being completed.

They consider the unrealistically high standards they set for themselves, and often expect from others, to be a positive character trait.

The reality is that it’s actually more of a liability, and a handicap to achievement.
