Many people are stressed because they feel they have too much to do and not enough time to do it. Most of us have this problem, but the people who suffer a lot of stress as a result probably haven't made the effort to think about how they manage time or about prioritising their tasks and the demands on their time. Lack of sleep is another fact of life for many people. Our bodies need time to recover from our daily exertions and we should all try to get as near to our ideal quota of sleep if not every night, at least as often as possible.

Many people turn to alcohol, nicotine, caffeine or other drugs to help deal with stress. These may help in moderation or in the short term, but in the longer term are likely to have just the opposite effect, as well as bringing on many other problems.
