Self Improvement Tip of the Day: Leader Must Effectively Communicate

Self Improvement Tip of the Day: Leaders Must Effectively Communicate

Good communication is essential, particularly two way communication and being prepared to listen. Some of the most effective communication is non verbal, especially the sort of examples you set. The best leaders show that they are willing to do anything they would expect anyone else to do.

When people are deciding if they respect you as a leader, it is more likely to be your actions rather than your words that are the determining factor. People want leaders that they believe will stand up for them rather than be self serving. People want leaders they can respect and that have a clear sense of direction and purpose, who know where they are going. They want leaders who will motivate and inspire them, give them direction, and help them to grow.

People respond to and respect leaders who will listen and seek to understand the concerns of their staff, and keep them informed of the bigger picture and their role within it.

To be continued….

'The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint to keep from meddling with them while they do it.' ~ Theodore Roosevelt
