Self Improvement Tip of the Day: Think About Your Encounters With People

Thinking about the non verbal signals we give out when communicating can make a big difference. It can help to make us more empathetic and other people will notice and respond accordingly.

If you've had a disagreement or confrontation, try to put yourself in the other person's position. What could they have been thinking? Were they really being difficult just for the sake of it? Could there have been factors involved you weren't aware of? There is always more than one side to every story. This can be hard as we tend to take a position we may have trouble seeing beyond, but working at this exercise will definitely help you to be more empathetic.
