Empathy is a powerful communication skill that improves communication and deepens interpersonal understanding in all areas of our lives. Anyone can become more empathetic if they're prepared to work at it.

Listening is one of the keys. Really listen, and not just with your ears. Look beyond the words and pay attention to body language, tone of voice and facial expressions. In communication there's always much more going than just the words. Work at truly paying attention and you'll get a much clearer picture of what's really being communicated.
