Self Improvement Tip of the Day: Visualisation and Affirmations Can Make A Huge Difference

Practice visualising your goal as already achieved. Experiments have proven that sportsman can improve their game by nothing more than concentrating on visualising themselves performing the way they want to perform. This is like watching of movie of yourself in your mind's eye. It may sound far fetched, but this is a very powerful and proven technique used by countless successful people in all walks of life.

Affirmations can help you to build self belief and talk yourself to success. The key here is positive wording and being set in the present tense. It's no good to keep telling yourself, for example, 'I will lose xx pounds' or 'I am xx pounds lighter'. Even adding a date won't help because these are stated as negatives and the first is also in the future tense. Focus on what you want, not what you don't want. Instead, say something like ' I am slim and easily fit into size xx clothes', or 'I weigh xx pounds and look and feel terrific'.
