Self Improvement Tip of the Day: What Works For You?

Self Improvement Tip of the Day: What Works For You?

But you don’t need to be trying to change the world or influence anyone else to be fulfilling a worthwhile purpose. For example, changing yourself and developing and growing as a person, or providing long term security for your family, are noble purposes and excellent motivators. And you will be making a contribution. Other people have bigger goals and ambitions. Whatever you want to achieve in your life, you’ll certainly be much more likely to succeed if you have real passion and purpose.

When you are guided and driven by a strong and compelling purpose, you’ll do what it takes to reach you goals. You won’t procrastinate. You won’t have any trouble taking action. Your biggest problem may well be that you’ll lack patience and may not want to do the planning and preparation that will usually help you reach your goals quicker.

You’ll certainly have the perseverance and persistence to keep going despite any obstacles you come up against. You will be passionate and fired up and you’ll refuse to be denied. You may be working hard but it may not feel like hard work because you’ll be fulfilling a higher need and moving towards your main purpose in life.

Self Improvement Quote of the Day: Selfless Reasons Are Great Motivators (continued)

Self Improvement Quote of the Day: Selfless Reasons Are Great Motivators (continued)

Another example of selfless motivation is Father Dave Smith, the rector of a tough inner city parish in Sydney, as well as being a boxer, martial arts expert and internet marketer. He is the only Australian in Holy Orders to have ever boxed professionally to raise money to keep his ministry going so he could continue to serve his community. He also writes inspirational and thought provoking newsletters on a wide range of social and other issues. His internet marketing activities are largely driven by the same selfless motivations. You can read more about Father Dave’s work and claim a free of charge preview copy of one of his excellent, inspirational books here:

Father Dave and Dr Mani are an inspiration to me and there are many, many examples of people whose actions and lives are guided by a higher purpose. In fact, some of the greatest achievements in history have been brought about by men and women acting for selfless reasons. Many couldn’t even explain their action or motivation, they just knew what they had to do or become and did it automatically.

Motivation can be at its strongest and most powerful for people who are driven are driven by altruistic reasons.

I know of two good examples in the area of internet marketing. Dr Mani Sivasubramanian is a pediatric Heart Surgeon in India and a successful internet marketer in his spare time. The main purpose of his online activities is to raise awareness and money for his foundation that pays for life saving operations for children whose parents can’t afford to pay for them. Many young lives have been saved through the efforts of this remarkable man. You can find out more about Dr Mani and his work here:

Self Improvement Tip of the Day: Is Money A Good Motivator?

Self Improvement Tip of the Day: Is Money A Good Motivator?

Many people are driven by the desire for money, although money for the sake of it is rarely a great motivator. The reasons for wanting money can make an enormous difference to how motivated anyone will be to put in the necessary effort. For example, a father who needs money for a life-saving operation for his child will certainly be more likely to succeed than someone who wants money for no reason in particular.

Despite what some people may think, it’s very unusual for money in itself to provide much motivation. It’s what can be done with money that brings about motivation and causes people to take action.
